Eau Claire, WI – The Eau Claire Express (13-19) lost game two of the series with the Willmar Stingers (19-13) by a score 6-5. Neither pitching staff excelled tonight as the offenses exchanged blows.

The Express first scored in the 3rd inning. Jimmy Glowenke (Dallas Baptist) lead off with a double. Scott Ogrin (Cal Poly) drove Glowenke in with an RBI double of his own. Ogrin would advance to third on a wild pitch and scored on a groundout by Cody Milligan (Oklahoma State). The next two runs came in the 4th.  Noah Sifrit (Oklahoma State) reached 1st base on a fielder’s choice. Spencer Myers hit a single, advancing Sifrit to second. Jimmy Glownke drove Sifrit in on a single and Myers scored on a single hit by Scott Ogrin in the next at bat. The final Express run came in the bottom of the 5th inning with two outs. Nick Brueser (Stanford) singled and advanced to third on a single by Garrett Gouldsmith (New Mexico). Drew Hmielewski (Minnesota) drove Brueser in on an RBI single.

In his first start with Eau Claire, Carson Rudd (Stanford) went 4 innings, giving up three runs on four hits and two walks. Jimmy Fouse (Dallas Baptist) could only pitch 0.1 innings in relief, allowing one run on three walks. Zach Grech (Stanford) threw 1.2 scoreless innings, recording one strikeout. Reagan MacDonald (Dallas Baptist) was credited with the loss, giving up two runs on two hits and two walks in two innings pitched. Colton Hale (Illinois Springfield) would finish the game for the Express, giving up one hit and one walk in a scoreless frame.

Eau Claire travels to Bismarck for a two game set on Saturday and Sunday against the Larks. They will then head to Willmar for a series with games being played on July 2nd and 3rd. The Express will welcome Thunder Bay to Carson Park on Wednesday, July 4th. It will be Fourth of July Postgame Fireworks! The game is presented by Cohen Law Offices, LLC and fans will receive a baseball giveaway (while supplies last). Wednesday is also Buck Night, which includes $1 hot dogs, $1 small sodas, $1 domestic beer and $4 wine for the first three innings!
