Eau Claire, WI – The Eau Claire Express (4-3) bounced back from a tough loss and downed the Mankato MoonDogs (4-3) by a score of 6-1. Eau Claire’s bats showed life and starter Revels dazzled on the mound.

The Express wasted no time getting on the board, scoring one in the 1st inning. Three consecutive singles from Spencer Myers (Notre Dame), David LaManna (Notre Dame) and Scott Ogrin (Cal Poly) loaded the bases and Nick Brueser (Stanford) hit a sacrifice fly to center field that scored Myers.

Eau Claire’s big inning was the bottom of the 4th, with three runs scoring. Adam LaRock (MATC) reached on a walk and Devon Garcia (Ohio) advanced him to second with a single. The bases were once again loaded after a walk by Spencer Myers. David LaManna hit a huge 3 RBI double to clear the bases and put the Express up 4-1. This clutch hit would earn LaManna the Express Player of the Night honors. Another run came in the 5th inning when Nick Brueser scored on a ground out hit by Cody Milligan (Oklahoma State). Finally, Spencer Myers hit a sac fly to left which scored Devon Garcia in the bottom of the 6th inning.

Justin Revels (Illinois Springfield) got the start for the Express tonight. The junior went 6 innings, giving up one run on two hits and six walks. He recorded two strikeouts tonight. Coming out of the bullpen was Chippewa Falls native, Trevor Olson (Xavier). Olson would earn a three inning save, allowing only one hit and issuing one walk. The freshman held the MoonDogs scoreless during those three innings and struck out two.
