The Eau Claire Express announced the additions of an Eau Claire native and two Cal Poly Mustangs to their 2019 roster Tuesday. The three additions bring the Express roster to ten with more announcements imminent in the coming weeks.

Eau Claire prep sports fans will be well familiar with Tanner Kohlhepp. The Eau Claire native is in the midst of his first season as a Volunteer at the nationally ranked University of Tennessee and will join the Express for the 2019 season. The Vols are currently 17-4 on the year while Kohlhepp has appeared sparingly in his freshman season on the mound for the program. Through four appearances, Kohlhepp has tossed three innings of work, striking out four batters. While attending Eau Claire Memorial High School, Kohlhepp was recognized as Wisconsin’s sixth overall prospect and No. 1 shortstop in the 2018 Class by Perfect Game and was also awarded First Team All-Conference honors as a junior and senior.

A sophomore from Scottsdale, Arizona, Nick DiCarlo plays his college ball for the Mustangs of Cal Poly. DiCarlo played in 44 games as a true freshman in 2018, starting 31 contests at third base and short stop. DiCarlo finished his freshman campaign with a .226 batting average and an on-base percentage of .357. While attending Arcadia High School in Phoenix, Arizona, DiCarlo helped his team to a semifinal finish in the state 5A playoffs and an overall record of 22-11.

A Honolulu, Hawaii native, Cole Cabrera will make his way to Eau Claire by way of San Luis Obsipo, California and Cal Poly. Cabrera primarily plays left field for the Mustangs and has already made 17 appearances for Cal Poly this spring. In 2018, Cabrera hit for .279 with three doubles and six RBIs over the course of 30 games. The outfielder was a four-year varsity player for Punahou High School in Honolulu and was drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 37th round of the 2017 MLB Draft.
