Eau Claire, Wis. – Three more ball players are set to make the trip to Eau Claire this summer after the Express signed a trio of pitchers to their 2019 roster Wednesday.

Express field manager Dale Varsho will have many versatile pieces at his disposal in 2019, including Garett Lake from Pima Community College. Lake, a left-handed pitcher and outfielder has helped the Aztecs to a 33-14 record this season and has established himself as a threat at the plate, batting .294 with nine RBIs and four extra-base hits. Lake will join his Pima Aztec teammate, and 2018 Express player, Phillip Sikes in Eau Claire this summer. With only six games remaining on Pima’s regular season schedule, both Lake and Sikes will be preparing for the NJCAA Divisional Playoffs that are set to begin May 2.

The Express have gained another lefty in their bullpen with the addition of Colt Mink. Mink has hit the ground running in his first season with the Flagler Saints after transferring from Santa Fe College in Gainesville, Florida. The junior has appeared in 12 contests for the Saints in 2019, tossing 22.2 innings, striking out 24 batters and earning a 1-0 record with a 5.56 ERA. Mink made 18 appearances while attending Santa Fe College as a sophomore and freshman, earning a 3-0 record in 2018. Mink is set to join outfielder, Connor Laspina, as Flagler Saints in Eau Claire this summer.

Ethan Swanson is a talented right-handed pitcher that will provide a great relief option for the Express in 2019. Swanson has made 15 relief appearances for a Cowley Tiger squad that has racked up over thirty wins in 2019, and currently holds the team’s second lowest ERA at 1.77. The Alva, Oklahoma native is one of six Tigers to eclipse the 20 innings pitched mark, tossing 20.1 IP’s, and has fanned 30 batters in 2019. Swanson, and Express veteran, Cody Milligan comprise the streak of Tigers on Eau Claire’s 2019 Roster.
