Express alum Kole Calhoun has signed a free-agent contract with the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Calhoun played for the Express from 2007-2009 and became the second Express player to play in the MLB when he made his debut with the Los Angeles Angels in 2012. Over eight seasons with the Angels Calhoun hit for a .249 average, with 167 doubles, 17 triples, and 140 home runs. The outfielder added 451 RBIs and scored a staggering 530 runs. In 2019 with the Angels Calhoun set a career-high in home runs (33) and RBIs (74).

Calhoun’s name covers the Eau Claire Express records in both single-season and career categories. The former Arizona State Sun Devil holds Express single-season records in doubles (19) and runs scored (57) and career records in doubles (41) and saves (24) while appearing in numerous other categories.
