Eau Claire, WI – Another beautiful night at Carson Park was joined with another fantastic performance by the Express. Eau Claire pushed their win streak to five by beating the Waterloo Bucks 4-2 to complete the two-game sweep over their in-division foe.
The Express pitching was dominant once again as Jack Brown (Minnesota State-Mankato) and Adam Stanton (Iowa Western CC) stifled the Bucks offense for the majority of the night. Stanton proved to be untouchable after relieving Brown, allowing just one hit and striking out four Waterloo hitters over four innings. Brown put in a solid effort in his second start of the season, getting the win and giving up two runs.
It was a balanced offensive performance for Eau Claire with six different players getting hits. Ben Taxdahl (St. Thomas) slapped a timely two-RBI single in the 5th and Peter Brookshaw (North Dakota State) continued his hot start with the Express by adding two hits.
The Express will travel to Waterloo to face the Bucks again tomorrow at 2:35 (CT).
