Eau Claire, WI – The Eau Claire Express completed their second straight unconventional walk-off win en route to beating the Bismarck Larks 7-6. Tuesday night’s win came on a walk-off walk from Mondovi product Tanner Marsh (St. Thomas).
Both starting pitchers, Ricky Apodaca (Minot State) and Jake Lynch (Murray State), struggled mightily with control, combining for nine walks. Apodaca was pulled quickly, only managing to go two innings for the Express.
The Express offense put up five runs in the first five innings but the Larks clawed back into the game thanks to three runs in the 7th and one in the 8th. In the ninth, Eau Claire managed to load the bases with no one out before Marsh worked a full-count walk to bring home the winning run.
This win makes it a three-game win streak for the Express which they will look to extend tomorrow against Bismarck at 6:35 CT.
