Eau Claire, WI – There was a point Wednesday afternoon when we weren’t sure if a game would take place, but thanks to a little TLC, both teams were able to take the field. The outcome was a good one, with the Express beating the Larks 5-1 to extend the win streak to four.
Luke Eldred (Dallas Baptist) shook off a first-inning solo home run and was absolutely lights out afterward, finishing with eight strikeouts and allowing just the one run on two hits to pick up the win. Hunter Rosenbaum (Rio Grande Valley) added two scoreless innings in relief and Matt Helwig (Lewis) threw a scoreless 9th to finish things up.
The Express offense wasn’t explosive but got what they needed in the right spots. Peter Brookshaw (North Dakota State) led the Eau Claire bats with three hits and an RBI while Benjamin Rosengard (Rice) contributed an RBI with two hits.
We’re back at Carson Park tomorrow for a doubleheader against the Duluth Huskies. First pitch is 11:35 CT while the second game will begin at 6:35.
