Eau Claire, WI – The Express put up a good fight, but the six-game win streak came to an end on Friday night. It was a back and forth game, but the Loggers came out on top by the score of 7-5.

The Express offense struggled to get anything going for most of the night. The highlight of the night came on an absolute moonshot off the bat of Charlie Szykowny (UW-Stout) for a grand slam to give the Express a 5-4 lead in the fifth inning. Joe Yorke (Cal Poly) added two hits and Cadyn Schwabe (North Dakota State) punched a double down the first-base line.

The Loggers saw great production from all parts of the lineup as seven different players had base hits and five had RBIs. Brennan Holt (Oklahoma State) and Carson Hornung (South Carolina) each had two RBIs while Coby Morales (Washington) crushed an opposite-field solo home run in the winning effort.

Eau Claire finishes the long home stand 6-1 and will travel to La Crosse tomorrow for game two of the series.
