Eau Claire, WI – Former Express outfielder Alex Call has been called up by the Cleveland Guardians to make his Major League debut.

Call played two seasons (2013-14) for the Express, appearing in 23 games while hitting .324 and collecting two home runs and 16 RBIs.

Call spent his collegiate career at Ball State where he accrued a .351 batting average, 19 home runs, 110 RBIs, and 31 stolen bases over three years. He was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2016 MLB Draft by the Chicago White Sox.

In 2016, Call made his professional debut with the Great Falls Voyagers of the Pioneer League, and after hitting .308 in 27 games he was called up to the Class-A Kannapolis Intimidators.

After spending 2017 in Class-A, Call was promoted to the Birmingham Barons (Double-A) in 2018 where he slashed .242/.325/.411 in 269 plate appearances. That offseason he was traded to Cleveland in exchange for Yonder Alonso.
