Eau Claire, WI – The Express ran into the Willmar buzzsaw on Thursday night that has been mowing down every team in their path lately. The Stingers defeated Eau Claire 9-4 and have now won 16 of their last 17 games.

The Stinger offense came out firing on all cylinders, putting up two runs in the first and four in the second on a grand slam from All-Star Joey Walls (UNLV). Eau Claire would get on the board in the bottom half of the 2nd on an RBI single off the bat of Benjamin Rosengard (Rice). No more scoring would occur until the 7th and 8th as both teams put up three runs across the two innings, highlighted by a two-run laser onto the fan deck by Charlie Szykowny (UW-Stout).

It was a tough day at the office for Express starting pitcher Spencer Wright (Mankato State). He got the hook just one batter into the second frame and allowed three earned runs. Chris Baytosh (Cal Poly) and Ethan Louthan (Oklahoma College-Tonwaka) ate up seven innings for manager Dale Varsho in their mop-up roles. The Eau Claire offense had a couple of players with multiple hits including Szykowny, Rosengard, and Jake Sapien (Stanford).

Express return to Carson Park tomorrow for their last game of the season against Willmar at 7:05 PM and Firework Friday!
