Eau Claire, WI – The Eau Claire Express fell to the Bismarck Larks on Friday night by a score of 3-2. Despite this, the Express’ magic number dropped to five as the La Crosse Loggers lost to the Waterloo Bucks.

The Express struck first in this one, putting two on the board in the 2nd. Bismarck would tie things up in the 5th courtesy of a sac fly and an errant throw from the Eau Claire defense. Jake Hjelle (Minnesota-Crookston) gave the Larks the lead on a solo moonshot over the left-field fence. The Bismarck pitching was dominant after the 2nd inning, shutting down the Express offense for the remainder of the game.

Eau Claire returns to Carson Park for the final series of their six-game home stand as they take on the Minnesota Mud Puppies at 6:35 CT.
