Duluth, MN – The Eau Claire Express defeated the Duluth Huskies 12-5 on Monday night, clinching the Great Plains East second half title in the process.

It was an offensive outburst for Eau Claire in this contest as they collected 20 hits, the fourth most in a game in Express history. Reed Latimer (Montevallo), NWL player of the night, led the way going five for five with two doubles and an RBI. Clay Conn (Illinois-Chicago) also reached base in all five plate appearances, posting four hits with a walk and an RBI. Sam Kuchinski (Montevallo), Charlie Szykowny (UW-Stout), Trevor Haskins (Stanford), and Jake Sapien (Stanford) all had multiple hits as well.

Ethan Louthan (Oklahoma College-Tonkawa) got the start on the bump for the Express and was solid, going five innings and allowing three runs en route to earning the win.

Eau Claire returns to action against the Huskies tonight at 6:35 CT. Playoff tickets go on sale at 9 AM on Thursday, August 11th.
