Eau Claire, WI – It was a pitcher’s duel at Carson Park on Thursday night as the Eau Claire Express took down the St. Cloud Rox 1-0. The Express are now 8-1 in the second half and have won their last eight games at home.

Luke Eldred (Dallas Baptist) was stifling on the mound for the Express, throwing seven shutout innings while allowing just three hits and striking out six St. Cloud batters. Derek True (Cal Poly) continued the pitching domination, tossing two perfect innings en route to earning the save.

The Express offense managed eight hits, but were unable to cash in on most of their scoring opportunities. The lone run came in the 6th when Charlie Szykowny (UW-Stout) grounded out to first to bring in Benjamin Rosengard (Rice). Rosengard, Reed Latimer (Montevallo), and Sam Kuchinski (Montevallo) contributed two hits apiece.

The trains return to Carson Park for the final leg of this four-game homestand as they take on the Rox at 7:05 CT.
