After taking a 3-0 lead early, the Eau Claire Express couldn't hold on and fell to the Mankato MoonDogs Friday night in the first contest of a six-game road trip.
Eau Claire scored all three runs in the top of the third. Drew Turbin knocked in two on an RBI single, plating Lane Milligan and Brady Burzynksi. Later in the inning, Mike Barajas scored on a wild pitch.
But the MoonDogs chipped away at the lead and scored twice in the bottom of the third and once in both the bottom of the seventh and eighth innings to give the Express their second-straight loss.
Eau Claire will get a chance to even things up against the MoonDogs tomorrow when Jordan Ruckman will take the mound. First pitch is set for 6:05 p.m.
