Eau Claire, WI – The Eau Claire Express (4-13) couldn’t get the offense going in a 3-1 loss against the St. Cloud Rox (8-8).

Eau Claire scored in the bottom of the 8th inning. Devon Garcia (Ohio) on base via the walk. He then stole second base and scored on an RBI single by Spencer Myers (Notre Dame).  The Express had three total hits in this evenings game and scored one run. Garcia, Ryan Bishop (Dallas Baptist), and Myers put the three hits on the board for the Express.

Trevor Olson (Xavier) was scheduled to start, but a late scratch was made. Rece Dietrich (Duluth) instead got the start on the mound for the Express. The sophomore made a fantastic start with minimal time to prepare for the game. Dietrich threw 6 innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on six hits and no walks. Isaiah Davis (Fresno State) pitched in relief. Davis has made improvements to his game and went three innings, allowing one run on three hits.

The Express homestand continues tomorrow night, Friday, June 15th, against the St. Cloud Rox. It is Princess Night, presented by WWIB/WOGO Radio! There will be princesses wandering the ballpark and postgame fireworks show. Princesses scheduled to appear (subject to change): Anna and Elsa, Belle and Moana. Make sure you stay after the game for a spectacular post game fireworks show!
