Eau Claire, WI – In the first game back from the all-star break, the Eau Claire Express (22-32) lost a thirteen-inning marathon against the La Crosse Loggers (31-24) by a score of 6-4 on Thursday night.

The Express first scored in the first inning. Spencer Myers (Notre Dame) lead off with a double. He scored when Cody Milligan (Oklahoma State) hit an RBI single. Milligan would score later in the inning on a wild pitch. Another run came in the 4th inning. Newcomer, Troy Beilsmith (Evansville) led off with a double of his own and scored on an error by the Loggers’ pitcher. The final Express run came in the 5th Cody Milligan doubled and advanced to third on a wild pitch. He would run into home on a sac fly to right by Scott Ogrin (Cal Poly), and Milligan would secure his Express player of the night honors.

Justin Revels (Illinois-Springfield) started for the Express and went 5 innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits and four walks. The junior struck out four. Josh Gaworski got his first appearance from the bullpen, throwing 1.2 innings and gave up three walks. Zach Grech (Stanford) pitched well out of the pen, tossing 3.1 scoreless innings with five strikeouts. Austin George (College of Charleston) pitched the last three innings and took the loss, giving up two runs. The junior struck out seven.
