Green Bay, WI – The Green Bay Booyah fought tooth and nail and found a way to get a 5-4 win over the Dock Spiders to open up the second half.

Fond du Lac scored first in the top half of the first inning after Tim Elko ripped an RBI single back up the middle to plate Charlie Maxwell. The Booyah, who had lost seven previous games, felt back in the same position coming back to bat in the bottom of the first.

Green Bay didn’t score in the bottom of the first, but they did pick up two runs in the second. Joe Mason led off the inning with a single, and Chris Williams followed by doubling over the left field wall to put runners at second and third. Jacob Buchberger brought in the first run of the day when he grounded out to plate Mason. The next batter for the Booyah, Jarrett Ford, took a 1-0 pitch to right field to bring in Williams and give Green Bay a 2-1 lead, and they never relinquished the lead after that.

At the plate, Blaise Maris led the way going 1-2 with a single, RBI, and two walks for Green Bay. Nick Kreutzer picked up an RBI on a single as well, going 1-3 on the evening. Jarrett Ford finished the day with two singles and an RBI, and Mike Ruggiero went 1-3 with a double and a run scored.

Tommy Miller picked up his second win of the season going six innings and giving up two earned runs. Miller improved his record to 2-1 on the season. Lefty Tanner Lane came out of the bullpen for Green Bay to pick up the six out save for the Booyah. Lane allowed one hit, and picked up one strikeout in route to his third save of the year.

Green Bay tries to stay on the winning path tomorrow on the road at Fond du Lac. Lefty Zach Chappell gets the start looking for his first win of the season. First pitch is set for 1:05 p.m.
