Green Bay aims to get back on track in second game against Kalamazoo

Ashwaubenon, Wis.- The Green Bay Rockers face off against the Kalamazoo Growlers for the second time in as many days Saturday, with first pitch set for 6:35 p.m. at Capital Credit Union Park.

The pregame concert performed by the Bandits will start at 5:35 p.m. with this game being Guaranteed Win Saturday at the ballpark, meaning if the Rockers lose, fans will get a free ticket voucher to a future game. Fans will also be able to run the bases postgame courtesy of Culver’s.

Following last night’s game between the two teams, Kalamazoo is now 2-1 in second half play this season while the Rockers are 1-2 through the first three games of the second half this season.

Kalamazoo led from start to finish in the game, taking down Green 11-4 Friday night despite multi-hit games from Collier Cranford and Brendan Ryan of the Rockers.

Ryan and Cranford each went 2-4 Friday night with Cranford having two RBIs while Ryan had two runs scored, leading the way offensively for Green Bay.

For Saturday night’s contest, the Rockers will send Will Semb out on the mound, as he enters the game with a 1-5 record and a 5.67 ERA.

Semb last pitched July 3 against Wisconsin Rapids, and pitched 2.2 innings, with this game against Kalamazoo being his seventh appearance overall in 2022.

Cylis Cox will earn the start for Kalamazoo, with this game being his tenth appearance of the season. His last appearance came back on July 4 against Wausau, pitching just one inning and giving up one walk.

The Rockers will remain at home following this matchup with Kalamazoo, as they’ll host the Rockford Rivets Sunday at Capital Credit Union Park for a two-game series. First pitch is set for 1:05 p.m.
