Green Bay takes on Wisconsin Rapids in last Sunday home game of regular season

Ashwaubenon, Wis.- The Green Bay Rockers take on the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters in the second of back-to-back meetings Sunday afternoon at home, with first pitch set for 1:05 p.m. at Capital Credit Union Park.

The pregame concert performed by All In will start at 12:05 p.m. with this game featuring a Rockers Mascot Bobblehead Giveaway presented by Festival Foods for the first 500 fans in attendance. Fans will also be able to play catch on the field postgame as well courtesy of Capital Credit Union.

After the Rafters won the first meeting of this two-game series Saturday night at Witter Field 3-1, the Rockers now look for the series split against the Rafters, in what will be the last Sunday home game of the regular season.

Despite the 3-1 loss, J.P Gauthier hit his second home run of the season, hitting a solo home run over the left field wall to give the Rockers their only run of the night.

Austin Vandenbrink, Jacob Young, and Caden Capomaccio pitched a combined 5.1 shutout innings out of the bullpen as well, keeping the Rockers in the game throughout the later innings.

In addition to the Gauthier home run, Tristin Garcia led the way for the Green Bay offense, going 2-5 in the game and extending his hitting streak to 14 games.

For Sunday’s game, Green Bay will start Jackson Briscoe who comes into the game with a 0-0 record and a 6.75 ERA.

Briscoe last pitched July 26 against the Dock Spiders in which he gave up two runs on five hits with three strikeouts in a total of 3.1 innings pitched.

Following this Sunday afternoon matchup, the Rockers will host the Traverse City Pit Spitters in a two-game series starting on Monday at Capital Credit Union Park. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m.
