ASHWAUBENON, Wis. — The Green Bay Rockers (5-4) suffered a tough 7-5 loss to the Madison Mallards (5-2) on Tuesday night at Capital Credit Union Park, despite holding a commanding 5-1 lead heading into the fifth inning. A disastrous fifth inning saw the Rockers’ pitching staff surrender six runs, allowing the Mallards to seize the lead and ultimately secure a mental victory.
The Rockers came out strong, building an early advantage with solid hitting and effective pitching. However, the momentum shifted dramatically in the final stretch when the Mallards capitalized on a series of walks, hits, and defensive miscues to plate the winning runs. The Rockers’ bullpen struggled to contain the Mallards’ offense during this frame, leading to the game’s pivotal turnaround.
Despite the setback, the Rockers showed resilience, threatening to rally in the later innings. However, the Mallards’ bullpen held firm, preventing any further scoring and sealing the win for Madison.
The Rockers will look to bounce back as they continue their series against the Mallards. Our next home game is on Educators Appreciation night, June 6th. That night will also feature a pre-game concert performance by Until Dawn Trio. Fans can follow the team’s updates and game coverage on the Green Bay Rockers’ official website and social media channels.
