Green Bay heads to the Detroit area already 2-0 on their road trip
Ashwaubenon, Wis. – A new series begins tonight, as the Rockers face off against the Leprechauns, with first pitch slated for 6:35 pm CT from Memorial Park in Royal Oak, Michigan.
It was another come-from-behind victory for Green Bay yesterday, taking down the Battle Jacks 5-3 in extra innings. The Rockers swept the Battle Jacks in the season series, 4-0.
Connor Cavo (Tallahassee State CC) gets the nod in game one against the Leprechauns. This season, he’s 0-1 with a 7.04 ERA. He’s making his fifth appearance for the Rockers and is coming off his longest outing of the summer. On July 25th, Cavo went 4.2 innings pitched, allowing two runs on five hits. His brightest spot was limiting walks, allowing just one compared to five strikeouts.
The Leprechauns will put Jack Sequin (Saginaw Valley State) on the mound. In six appearances, Sequin is 0-3 with a 9.72 ERA. He’s struck out 15 batters and held his opponents to just five base on balls, but hasn’t gone more than 4.2 innings of action.
The Rockers will go for their seventh win in a row. Their current streak of six began with a two-game home sweep of the Leprechauns. Now, just as they did with the Battle Jacks, the Rockers will look to sweep the season series against Royal Oak.
The Rockers return home on Monday, August 3, hosting the Wausau Woodchucks! First pitch is slated for 6:35 pm, with gates opening one hour prior at 5:30 pm.
