Green Bay now heads to Madison for a two-game series at Warner Park

Ashwaubenon, Wis.- The Green Bay Rockers fell to the Wausau Woodchucks 10-3 Wednesday night at Athletic Park in the first of five straight games on the road for Green Bay.

The Rockers will now head to Madison for a two-game series on Thursday and Friday as Green Bay is now 4-4 in second half play through the first eight games following Wednesday’s defeat.

Green Bay scored two runs early in the top of the first, taking an early 2-0 lead off RBIs by Keniel De Leon and Collier Cranford.

Wausau however responded in the bottom half of the frame, scoring four runs, and taking a 4-2 after one inning of play.

The Woodchucks added to their lead in the second with four more runs, leading 8-2 through two innings at Athletic Park.

Wausau made it 9-2 in the third, but a strikeout by Tommy Leonzi kept it 9-1 heading into the fourth inning.

Jaxon Meyer pitched a scoreless fourth inning of relief, including a strikeout to complete the frame as it remained a 9-2 ballgame through four innings of play.

After Wausau made it a 10-2 game in the fifth, the Rockers responded with an RBI single from Danny Wuestenfeld making it 10-3 through six innings after Giovanni Canales pitched a scoreless sixth inning out of the bullpen.

Canales pitched a scoreless seventh and eighth inning as well, keeping the Woodchucks off the board in those two innings as the score remained 10-3 heading into the ninth.

Green Bay went 1-2-3 in the top of the ninth, as the Woodchucks won 10-3 over the Rockers at Athletic Park earning their sixth straight win.

The Rockers will now look to a two-game series with the Madison Mallards, starting on Thursday night at Warner Park. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m.
