Green Bay takes on Lakeshore trying to complete another series sweep at Kapco Park
ASHWAUBENON, Wis. – The Green Bay Rockers (13-10) will travel to Kapco Park to take on the Lakeshore Chinooks (9-15) for the third time this season. Yesterday, the Rockers defeated the Chinooks for the fifth straight time 9-7. First pitch for tonight’s contest is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
Daalen Adderley (Loyola Marymount) got the Rocker going in the second inning, blasting his second home run of the season over the right field wall to take a 1-0 lead. Lakeshore leveled the game in the next frame, but the Rockers poured it on in the bottom of the third.
Sam Miller (Columbia) brought in two to start the scoring run, and Daalen Adderley (Loyola Marymount) hit a deep triple to score three more later in the inning. Green Bay put up seven total, making the score 8-1 after three. The Chinooks rallied through the rest of the game, but the Rockers were able to fend off the charge, holding on to win 9-7.
Tonight, Dillon Orr (Grand Canyon) takes the mound for Green Bay. This is his fourth start and fifth appearance for the team. This season, he’s picked up ten strikeouts and only allowed five runs, good enough for a 3.86 ERA.
Lakeshore is starting Ross Huffman (Moravian College) on the mound tonight. This season, he’s thrown 14 innings, with only seven strikeouts and 19 earned runs.
The Rockers will be back at Capital Credit Union Park on Thursday for a game against the Madison Mallards (16-8). First pitch is slated for 6:35 p.m. The NEW Dueling Pianos will perform live music starting when gates open at 5:30 p.m.
