Four home runs fueled Green Bay to a Sunday Victory over Royal Oak

Ashwaubenon, Wis. – It was a derby day for the Rockers, as Coleman Lewis (Georgia Tech), JT Starkus (Cal State Monterey Bay) and Jeremy Delamota (Fairleigh Dickinson) all hit home runs, leading to the Rockers 8-6 win over the Leprechauns.

The win Sunday evening marked the conclusion of Green Bay’s Michigan swing, turning in a record of 3-1 with a sweep of Battle Creek and a split with Royal Oak. With the win blowing out, the scoring was early and often as Jeremy Delamota hit a solo shot to open the scoring in the 2nd. Then, Coleman Lewis followed him in the 3rd with a solo shot to center of his own, to make it 2-0 Rockers after three innings.

A three-spot in the fourth, highlighted by a Daniel Harden two-RBI double, made it 5-0 Rockers. Royal Oak came back with some steam in their half of the fourth, adding four runs to cut it to a one-run difference. Despite the four runs, Brennen Miller (UW-Parkside) tossed seven innings, allowing five runs on seven hits, but punching out five Leprechauns as well.

The seventh saw each squad add another run, bringing it to the last inning at 8-5 for Green Bay. After a 1-2-3 eighth, Jayden Martin (Georgia State) ran into some trouble in the 9th, allowing one run to score, but locked it down with a fly out to center to end the game, earning Martin his second save of the season.

In his final game in Green Bay, JT Starkus and Jeremy Delamota both went yard, ending their summers on high notes.
