La Crosse, Wis. – Start the countdown: The La Crosse Loggers’ 2015 season opener is 176 days away.

The Northwoods League announced its 2015 schedule on Tuesday. The Loggers will open on the road for the fourth consecutive season, facing the Green Bay Bullfrogs on Tuesday, May 26. La Crosse will play its home opener two days later, against the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters at 7:05 p.m. on Thursday, May 28 at Copeland Park.

For the first time in club history, the Loggers will host a day-night doubleheader. La Crosse and Madison are set for games at noon and 7 p.m. on Monday, June 29. Plus, an Independence Day home game is back on the schedule, as the Loggers will host Kenosha on Saturday, July 4. La Crosse has not played at Copeland Park on July 4 since the 2006 season.

La Crosse has two home games in May, and plays 15 at home in June, 13 in July, and six in August, including the final game of the regular season on Sunday, Aug. 9 at 5:05 p.m. against the Madison Mallards.

The Northwoods League All-Star Game is set for Tuesday, July 21 at Wisconsin Rapids. The Big League Dreams Showcase is Tuesday, Aug. 4 at Madison.

The Loggers in 2014 drew 110,251 fans (3,150 avg.), reaching past the 100,000 mark for the 10th consecutive season. La Crosse will be led by first-year field manager Bill Sandillo in 2015. Sandillo operates three baseball-driven businesses in Chandler, Ariz., and is a former coach in the Cape Cod League.
