Just two months remain until the 2017 La Crosse Loggers baseball season is underway. Many incoming Loggers have been seeing success at their respective colleges and we know that they will continue that success when they put on that Loggers uniform. Here's a look at a few highlights from this past weekend.

Pitchers

• In the Long Beach State's Saturday win over #5 Cal State Fullerton, John Sheaks had the longest outing on the mound of his career. Pitching 6.1 innings, Sheaks allowed four runs on four hits with one walk and three strikeouts.
• Orlando Razo took care of business on the defensive side of things in UC-Davis' Sunday 12-1 defeat over Creighton. Razo allowed just one run on four hits and stuck out five batters over his six innings of work.
• Two names that you may recognize every week are at it again. Michael Plassmeyer and TJ Sikkema combined efforts in the Missouri win over Arkansas. Plassmeyer's start consisted of five innings, where he allowed just six hits and one earned run with five strikeouts. Sikkema earned the win pitching four innings allowing one run on two hits and striking out two. This brings Sikkema's season totals to five wins, zero losses, and three saves.

Positional Players

• Luke Rassmussen blasted his first homerun of the season during the 6-4 comeback win against the #5 Cal State Fullerton. Rassmussen's offensive work has helped the Dirtbags to an above .500 season thus far.
• Connor Perry has had a great season at the plate with the Lackawanna Falcons. As of today, Perry is batthing .383 with 23 hits, including nine doubles and a homerun, 20 runs, 11 RBI with 23 walks and just nine stikeouts. He also has added seven stolen bases.
