(Rochester, Minn)— The Rochester Honkers Baseball Club announced today the signing of right-handed pitcher, John Conquy from Dixie State College in St. George, Utah.
Conquy is a 6-foot-3, 190-pound junior from Las Vegas, Nev. He is currently 4-1 with a 2.83 ERA, and has collected 28 strikeouts in 35.0 innings of work. He’s made eight appearances on the season, five of them starts, allowing only 11 earned runs and walking six.
Conquy came to Dixie State after two years at the College of Southern Nevada. He went 5-3 with a 3.44 ERA as a sophomore, striking out 54 in 55.0 innings pitched. As a freshman he posted a 2-4 record, collecting 49 strikeouts in 48.2 innings.
The Rochester Honkers 21st season begins on May 27th when the Waterloo Bucks prance into Mayo Field for a 7:05pm first pitch. The Honkers will play 72 games in 2014 (36 home, 36 away).
