(Rochester, Minn.)— The Rochester Honkers Baseball Club announced today the signing of right-handed pitcher, Max Weinstein from UC Irvine.
Weinstein is a 5-foot-11, 150-pound freshman from Canyon County, CA. Currently, he has made only two appearances on the season, pitching 1.1 innings allowing no, runs, hits or walks.
A graduate of Canyon High School, Weinstein posted a 5-5 record as a senior, striking out 63 in 70.1 innings or work. His team won the 2013 All-CIF Southern Division and was the Foothill League Champions. He was named the Foothill League Player of the Year and also voted the All-Santa Clarita Valley Player of the Year. Weinstein also hit .438 with 13 RBIs and 23 runs scored as a senior.
The Rochester Honkers 21st season begins on May 27th when the Waterloo Bucks prance into Mayo Field for a 7:05pm first pitch. The Honkers will play 72 games in 2014 (36 home, 36 away).
