(Rochester, Minn.)— The Rochester Honkers Baseball Club announced today that Clinton Cole from the Illinois Center for Broadcasting in Chicago, Illinois will be the team’s new radio voice for the 2015 season. All 36 home and 36 away games will be broadcasted live on Sports Radio AM 1520 The Ticket, a Townsquare Media Group station.
“I’m extremely excited to join the Rochester Honkers organization, and to call Northwoods League Baseball,” said Cole. “Baseball and broadcasting are my true passions and to be able to do that with the best club in the Northwoods League is really special.”
Cole has plenty of experience behind the microphone. He currently hosts his own show on Chicagoland Sports Radio covering Purdue Football and Basketball, as he just finished covering the Big Ten Tournament for men’s basketball. Cole now jumps into calling games for the Chicago Blitz of the Continental Indoor Football League staring March 21st along with continuing his show on Chigagolandradio.com. Prior to becoming the voice of the Chicago Blitz in 2014, he was the color analyst for the Illinois Tech Scarlet Hawks men’s basketball team
Last summer, Cole was one of three broadcasters for the Palm Springs POWER Baseball Club, a member of the Southern California Collegiate Baseball League.
“I learned a lot in my time with Palm Springs,” said Cole. “I look forward to taking what I learned and applying it to the upcoming season with the Rochester Honkers.”
Cole brings a new style, experience and enthusiasm to the airwaves this summer.
“I’m excited for the season and can’t wait to call Honkers’ baseball,” Cole added. “After speaking with two former broadcasters, I knew this was the place for me.” You can follow Clinton Cole on Twitter @cdcole55 or listen to his other works at Soundcloud.com/clintonc5 and don’t forget to follow the Rochester Honkers on Twitter @RochHonkers.
Cole takes over the mic from Erik Ryan Solberg, who was unable to return in 2015 due to his soccer coaching requirements at East Central University
