Rochester Honkers Announce Their 2016 Northwoods League Schedule
Team will play 72 games in 78 days in their 23rd season.
 

(Rochester, Minn.)The Rochester Honkers Baseball Club announced today their complete game schedule for the 2016 Northwoods League season.  The Five-Time NWL Champions open their 23rd season on Tuesday May 31st when travel to Eau Claire, Wisconsin to take on the Express at 6:35pm.  The Honkers will then return home on Wednesday, June 1st for their home opener versus the Express at 7:05pm. 

The Rochester Honkers, a member of the North Division, will play a 72 game schedule in 78 days, beginning on the road on May 31st and ending on the road on August 14th.  The League, which plays two halves to determine playoff participants, will end the first half of play on July 5 with the second half beginning the following day. Last year’s newly adopted playoff format will continue in 2016. Beginning on August 15 the first and second half divisional champions will have home field advantage on the first day of the one-game elimination divisional playoffs. Their opponents will be determined by the two divisional teams remaining with the best overall records. The winners of those games will play against each other the following day in another one-game elimination division championship. Following an off-day the North and South Division Champions will then meet in a best-of-three series for the Summer Collegiate World Series from August 18-20.

The 2016 Northwoods League All-Star Game will be held on Tuesday, July 19. Additional details regarding the 2016 All-Star game location and festivities will be released at a later date.  The Major League Dreams Showcase will take place at Warner Park, in Madison, for its fourth year on August 9, 2016. 

The Rochester Honkers 2016 season will see two split double headers with the Mankato MoonDogs. 

The Honkers will travel to Mankato for a 12:05pm day game on June 19 followed by a night game in Rochester at 7:05pm.  Then on August 1, a 12:05pm matinee in Rochester will be followed by the nightcap at 7:05pm in Mankato.

Rochester Honkers home games will start at 7:05pm for games Monday through Saturday and Sundays will all start at 1:05pm.  The Honkers will also play two mid-week day games (Wednesday, June 22nd and Monday, August 1) both starting at 12:05pm.

General Admission ticket prices for the 2016 will be a flat rate of $8.00/person, with kids 4 and under admitted for free.  The Honkers will also have two reserved sections behind home plate for $9.00/seat and Box Seats right up front with wait service are $12.00.
