Honkers 25th Season will consist of 72 games in 78 days!

 

(Rochester, Minn.)The Northwoods League released its complete schedule for the 2018 season that will feature 20 teams, each playing 72 regular season games in 78 days.  The Rochester Honkers begin their 25th season of play when they open the season at home on Tuesday, May 29th for a two-game set with the Eau Claire Express.  First pitch is 7:05pm for both games. 

The 2018 season will see the continuation of doubleheaders when the Honkers play a split doubleheader with the Mankato MoonDogs on June 27.  The Honkers will host a 12:05pm matinee on Wednesday, June 27th and then travel to Mankato for a 7:05pm nightcap.  Then on Wednesday, August 1, the Honkers will play a unique Day/Night doubleheader in Eau Claire, with game one starting at 1:05pm followed by the evening game at 7:05pm.  

Rochester’s home schedule will feature the following game times:

  • Monday – Saturday 7:05pm
  • Sunday 1:05pm
  • Exception
    • Wednesday, June 17 12:05pm
    • Friday, July 20 12:05pm

The League, which plays two halves to determine playoff participants, will end the first half of play on July 3, with the second half beginning the following day.  Beginning on August 13, the first and second half divisional champions will have home field advantage on the first day of the one-game elimination divisional playoffs. Their opponents will be determined by the two divisional teams remaining with the best overall records. The winners of those games will play against each other the following day in another one-game elimination division championship. With no off-day in between, the North and South Division Champions will then meet in a best-of-three series for the Summer Collegiate World Series from August 15-17.

The 2018 Northwoods League All-Star Game will be held on Tuesday, July 24 at a location to be announced soon.   The Major League Dreams Showcase will take place at Warner Park, in Madison, for its sixth year on August 7, 2018. 

General Admission ticket prices for the Honkers 2018 season will be a flat rate of $8/person, with kids 4 and under admitted for free.  The Honkers will also have two reserved sections behind home plate for $9/seat and Box Seats right up front with wait service are $12.

Suites and Patios are now available for the team’s 25th season. Season Box Seat Reserved Tickets and Half-Season Ticket Plans are on sale for 10% off if paid in full by December 31, 2017. Call the Rochester Honkers Office at 507-289-1170 for more information.
