(Rochester Minn.) –  A few college baseball programs played their first games of the 2018 season over the weekend. Three future Honkers kicked off their season and here is how they fared.

Josh Ibarra (RHP) – Concordia Irvine (1-2)

Josh Ibarra got the start on the hill in the second game of the series against Cal State San Marcos. The freshman spun a gem throwing 6 1/3 innings giving up just three hits and striking out five. Ibarra did not surrender a run. Concordia Irvine’s offense did not help him a whole lot as they were only able to push a crossed one run. Concordia Irvine ended up losing 2-1.

Casey Dunlap (INF) – Point Loma Nazarene (3-0)

Casey Dunlap started two games for the Sea Lion’s at second base. He went 1-for-8 over the weekend with four RBI’s to help 24th ranked Point Loma Nazarene sweep North Alabama. His one hit was a bases clearing double.

Ryan Casper (OF/RHP) – Point Loma Nazarene (3-0)

Ryan Casper made one pinch hit appearance over the weekend and made the most of it. He singled and was later driven in by fellow future honker Casey Dunlap.
