Honkers add junior college product.

(Rochester, Minn.) – The Rochester Honkers have announced the signing of Chandler Cannon, a right-handed pitcher from Walters State Community College, to a temporary contract for 2018.

Cannon is a 6-foot 185-pound sophomore from Oregon, Ohio. He began his collegiate career in 2017 at McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas.  His season was cut short due to an arm injury.  In his brief time, Cannon made 5 appearances, recording a 2-1 record and earning one save.  He collected 10 strikeouts in 10 1/3 innings of work. Cannon is recovering successful Tommy John surgery and is now 100% healthy.  In 2017, he signed with the Bismarck Larks of the NWL before his injury.

Cannon is a 2016 graduate of Clay High School in Toledo, Ohio.  He finished his high school pitching career 15-2 with a 0.22 ERA.  He earned a first-team All-Ohio selection and named Regional Pitcher of the Year.  Cannon will join Walters State Community College in the fall of 2018.   Cannon signed with Walters State and will report  in the fall.
