Two shutouts tossed this week.


(Rochester Minn.) –
As April comes down to the wire, future Honkers are hitting their stride in their colligate season. Here is how some future Honkers performed in the past week.

Hunter Spencer (LHP) – Bellarmine (33-12)
Hunter Spencer tossed his team leading third complete game leading Bellarmine to a 7-0 win over Lewis University. Spencer struck out five and allowed just two hits and one walk. He improved his record to 5-1. Spencer has tossed 55 1/3 innings and has posted a 3.74 ERA. He has struck out 48 compared to just nine walks. Bellarmine continues play Saturday hosting the University of Illinois Springfield for a four-game series to conclude their regular season.

Matt Hardy (OF) – UC Riverside (15-19)
Matt Hardy was a big run producer for the Highlanders. The junior hit .333 and drove in four runs as UC Riverside took one out of three games from San Jose State. Hardy also scored a run, stole a base and ripped his second double of the year. Hardy is hitting .289, has one run home run and 13 RBIs. The Highlanders continue play today hosting San Diego State.

David Lemasters (RHP) – Lake Erie (12-19)
David Lemasters spun a gem but could not get the run support he needed as Lake Erie lost a 2-0 decision at Findlay. Lemasters gave up just two unearned runs over seven innings, he struck out eight, walked one, and surrendered just three hits. He was tagged with his third loss of the year. Lemasters has earned a 2.58 ERA over 46 innings pitched and has whiffed 58. Lake Erie continues play today at Gannon.

Christian Robinson (OF) – Stanford (30-5)
Christian Robinson started every game in center field for Stanford in their three-game series at Arizona. The freshman hit .363, scored two runs and had four RBIs. He showed off some power as he added a double and a triple for No. two ranked Stanford. The Cardinal swept Arizona to remain in first place in the Pac-12. Robinson is hitting .375, has driven in eight runs and has scored six. Stanford takes on Pacific today at home.

Josh Ibarra (RHP) – Concordia Irvine (17-25)
Josh Ibarra tossed his first career shutout leading the Eagles to a 5-0 victory over Fresno Pacific University. Ibarra allowed just two hits and struck out four to improve his record to 2-4. The freshman has tossed 44 1/3 innings and has struck out 37. Concordia Irvine continues play Thursday hosting Dixie State University for a four-game series.
