ROCHESTER, MN. – The Rochester Honkers baseball are excited to announce the signings of Dwayne Marshall, Marty Tolson Jr., and Mitchell Allen.

Marshall is a 6’2”, 205-pound right-handed pitcher from Piscataway, New Jersey. He will join the Honkers following his junior year at Eastern Maryland Shore. In his first start of 2019, he pitched a complete game shutout and was honored as Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Pitcher of the Week. Last year, he became a fixture on the mound and in Hawks’ lineup. As a pitcher, he pitched to a 3.24 earned run average (ERA) against conference competition. Marshall struck out seven opponents in six inning, one run effort as the Hawks clinched a MEAC Championship berth. He also picked up a victory in relief. As a hitter, he led his team with a .316 batting average against MEAC opponents. He was second on the team in overall average, slugging percentage, and doubles. He was successful in nine out of 10 steal attempts.

Tolson Jr. is a 5’10”, 180-pound right-handed pitcher from Fredericksburg, Maryland. He will rejoin his college teammate Marshall on the Honkers. Last year, he logged the third most starts, the third most innings pitched for the team, and was fourth on the team with 25 strikeouts. Tolson Jr. went 4 ⅓ innings in his first start of the season, giving up only one run and striking out four. He also grinded out a 5 ⅓ inning effort to earn his first win. He was a two year varsity letter winner with academic honors at Stafford Senior High School.

Mitchell Allen is a 6’0”, 225-pound right-handed pitcher/infielder from Phoenix, Arizona. He joins the Honkers following his first year at New Mexico State, after playing his freshman and sophomore year at Glendale Community College. He made 11 appearances on the mound, including three starts, on his way to earning 34 strikeouts last year. As a batter, Allen recorded two home runs and 19 runs batted in (RBIs) through 41 games while maintaining a .287 batting average. At Boulder Creek High School, he led the state of Arizona with six home runs as a senior while posting a .472 batting average.
