In a game that featured seven, almost eight home runs, Rochester outlasted the La Crosse Loggers en route to a series sweep. The 12-10 Honker victory featured five innings with multiple runs scored and 21 combined hits.

Rochester overcame a four-run deficit to begin the night, TJ Manteufel (Bradley) connected on a first-inning grand slam to put La Crosse out in front. The Honkers battled back with two runs of their own on RBI singles by Benjamin Rosengard (Rice) and Carson Stevens. (Cal Poly)
The Logger lead was erased by a four-run Honker third inning that saw eight men come to the plate. Rochester tied the score in the inning with a Benjamin Rosengard RBI groundout and Mike Bolton Jr (Purdue) bases-loaded walk.
The Honkers took the lead on a rather unconventional Alex Pimentel (Long Beach St) two-run single. Pimentel cleared the left-field wall on what appeared to be a grand slam, but a runner was ruled out for not touching a base, netting the Honkers just two of the four runs.
La Crosse did not trail for long, however, putting up three in fourth on a pair of homers by Brandon Fields (South Carolina) and Pancho Ruiz. (San Diego St)
The lead changed hands again in the bottom of the inning, Rochester capitalized on a couple of walks and an error with a big blow. Ben North (Creighton) deposited another grad slam over the left-field wall. It was North’s first home run of the summer, bringing his RBI total to nine.
Rochester tacked on runs in the seventh and eighth innings on a Benjamin Rosengard bases-loaded walk and Carson Stevens solo homer. Stevens finished the night three for four with two RBIs and a walk.
Working around two more Logger Homers, Michael Portela (Gardner Webb) closed the door for the Honkers to earn a third straight win.

The Honkers improve to 23-24 on the summer and 8-7 in the second half. Rochester opens a two-game home set with the Minnesota Mud Puppies tomorrow night with first pitch from Mayo Field at 6:05.
