ROCHESTER, MINN – The Rochester Honkers defeated the Waterloo Bucks by a final score of 17-11 tonight at Mayo Field.

Rochester scored 11 runs in the first four innings. Two in the first on a throwing error and Nico Regino (Charleston Southern) RBI single. Five runs in the second on two home runs. A two run shot off the bat of Joe Longo (Michigan) and three run homer by Kevin Dowdell (West Virginia). Two more were scored in the third on an Austin Davis (West Virginia) sac fly and Theo Hardy (San Jose State) RBI single. In the fourth Rochester added two more on an error. The Honkers led 11-3 after four and cruised from there.

Caleb Lingenfelter (Roanoke) was strong in his first start of the summer. He picked up his first win going five innings allowing three earned runs and striking out seven. The Honkers turned it into even more of a laugher with a six run seventh to take a 17-5 lead before Waterloo scored five in the eighth and a run in the ninth to make the score look more reasonable.

The Honkers improve to 9-3 at home this summer and 3-0 against Waterloo. Noah Rooney (Minnesota) takes the ball tomorrow as Rochester goes for their second two game sweep over the Bucks in a week. First pitch is set for 5:05 p.m. from Mayo Field.
