The Rochester Honkers battled back from 1-0, 2-1, and 5-3 deficits to defeat the Mankato MoonDogs 9-5 on Saturday night at Mayo Field.
Withe the Honkers ahead 3-2 in the fifth Mankato quickly retook the lead. The first three batters reached, the latter being Sean Ross (Indiana State) who drilled a three run home run.
However the Honkers took the lead for good in sixth. Alex Pimentel (Long Beach State) had the game winning RBI single, Nico Regino (Charleston Southern) followed him with another run scoring base-hit to make it 7-5.
Frank Craska (Lafayette College) was terrific out of the bullpen. Craska threw three scoreless innings, picking up his second win of the summer.
Rochester added two more in the bottom of the eight to pull away, and Troy Wentworth (UC Irvine) closed it out with a scoreless ninth.
The Honkers improve to 14-18 this summer after the win. They start a two game series against the La Crosse Loggers tomorrow in La Crosse. First pitch is set for 5:05 p.m.
