(Rochester Minn.) – Some future Honkers are starting to get hot for their respective colleges. Here are some highlights from the past week.

Andy Armstrong (INF) – Oregon State (15-1)

Andy Armstrong raked last week for the Beavers. In a 6-3 win against Portland, Armstrong went 1-for-2 and drove in a run. In the weekend series against Cal State Fullerton, the sophomore hit .444, had three RBIs and three doubles. Oregon State took two games out of three against the Titans. Oregon State is ranked No. 1 in the country according to NCAA.com. The Beavers open up conference play Friday hosting California for a three-game series.

Hunter Spencer (LHP) – Bellarmine (9-5)

Hunter Spencer tossed six shutout innings for the Knights in a 12-0 win against Alderson Broaddus. Spencer gave up just three hits and struck out three to improve his record to 2-0. The lefty leads Bellarmine in innings pitched with 23 2/3 and is second in strikeouts with 23. On Wednesday, the Bellarmine take on Lincoln Memorial in a double header.

David Lemasters (RHP) – Lake Erie (2-8)

David Lemasters struck out 10 over five innings to earn his first win of the season. He gave up just four hits and one earned run in a 9-5 win over Concord. Lemasters has a 3.45 ERA over 15 2/3 innings. He has struck out 24 compared to walking just five. Lake Erie continues play today at Ohio Valley.

Jaylon McLaughlin (SS) –Nevada (8-6)

Jaylon McLaughlin filled up the stat sheet in just eight at-bats for the Wolf Pack. McLaughlin stole his second base of the year, had three hits including a triple and scored four runs as Nevada completed a three-game sweep against San Jose State and lost a tough extra innings game against Pacific. McLaughlin is hitting .296 with two triples and has scored seven runs. Nevada travels to Sacramento to take on Sacramento State today.

Eddie Mathis (LHP) – Bellarmine (9-5)

Southern Indiana could not touch Eddie Mathis. The lefty tossed a complete game and gave up one run in the ninth to narrowly miss a shutout. Mathis struck out 11 and led Bellarmine to a 6-1 victory. The junior has compiled a 3.18 ERA over 22 2/3 innings. He has a 2-1 record and leads Bellarmine with 24 strikeouts. On Wednesday, the Knights take on Lincoln Memorial in a double header.
