(Rochester, MN)-– The Rochester Honkers Baseball Club announced today their complete game schedule for the 2014 Northwoods League season. The Five-Time NWL Champions open their 21st season on May 27th, when they host the Waterloo Bucks for their home opener at 7:05pm.
The Rochester Honkers, a member of the North Division, will play a 72 game schedule in 76 days, beginning at home on May 27th and ending on the road on August 10th. The first half of the season will be complete at the end of play on Monday, June 30th with the second half beginning the following day. The NWL Playoff Series will take place from August 11th through August 16th. The winners of each division’s two halves will meet in a best-of-three divisional playoff series (August 11-13) with the winners advancing to the Summer Collegiate World Series (August 14-16), also a best-of-three. The Northwoods League’s 20th All-Star Game will take place on July 22rd as the Lakeshore Chinooks (Mequon, WI) will host the mid-season classic. The Big League Dreams Showcase event will take place at Warner Park on August 5, 2014 in Madison, WI again, for its second year.
The Rochester Honkers 2014 season will see two split double headers with the Waterloo Bucks. The Honkers will play at home for a 1:05pm day game on June 30th, followed by a night game in Waterloo, IA. Then on July 30th, a 12:05pm matinee in Waterloo, IA with the nightcap at 7:05pm back in Rochester.
Rochester Honkers home games will start at 7:05pm for games Monday through Saturday and Sundays will all start at 1:05pm. The Honkers will also play two mid-week day games (Monday, June 30th and Tuesday, July 15th) both starting at 1:05pm.
General admission ticket prices for the 2014 will be a flat rate of $7.00/person, with kids 4 and under admitted for free. In 1994, the Honkers general admission tickets were $4.00 for adults and $2.00 for kids and seniors.
The Rochester Honkers are one of two remaining teams (Wisconsin (Wausau) Woodchucks) from the Northwoods League’s inaugural season of 1994.
