(Rochester, Minn.)—Nick Gruener (Harvard) and Brandon Stennis (Doane College) completely shut down the Thunder Bay Border Cats in the second game of Tuesday’s doubleheader, helping the Honkers win again in Thunder Bay, 4-0.

Gruener threw three innings and pitched around three walks, allowing just one hit. Stennis was just as hard to hit; he pitched four innings giving up just one hit and allowing just one walk. The two combined to strike out eight Border Cats in the seven-inning contest.

Apart from the phenomenal pitching, the Honkers smacked 13 hits and scored 4 runs – 2 of which came off the bat of Casey Fletcher (Illinois). Fletcher collected his two RBIs on three hits – a double clanging off the base of the right/center field fence in the 3rd inning and a hard single in the 4th inning.
