(Rochester, Minn.)– The Rochester Honkers will travel to Thunder Bay (Canada) tonight (Thursday, June 25th) for the first game of a two game series beginning at 6:05 Central. Alex Evans (Barton CC) is scheduled to start for Rochester tonight.The Honkers currently sit at 17-11 for the season and are tied for first place in the NWL North Division with the Willmar Stingers.
This is the first of a four game road trip for Rochester. They will play two games in Thunder Bay before returning to Minnesota for a pair of games in Duluth against the Huskies. They will be back at home on Tuesday, June 30th, to face the Waterloo Bucks at 12:05 p.m. at Mayo Field. It will be Kid 3 Buck Day, presented by Perkins, where all kids 12 and under can get into the game for just three dollars. It will be the first game of a split double header. The second game will be in Waterloo at 7:05 that night. These will be the first two games in the Honkers' and Bucks' competition for the Scheel's Highway 63 Cup this season. The Cup is awarded to the winner of the season series between Rochester and Waterloo.
