(Rochester, Minn.)—Honkers starting Pitcher Jayson Yano (Stevens Institute) and DH Joe DeRoche-Duffin (UCONN) have been named to the Northwoods League Postseason All-Star Team.
Yano was the Honkers ace for the Majority of the season, going 5-2 with a 2.4 ERA in eight starts. Yano was also the Honkers’ only All-Star during the regular season.
Duffin has bee one of the top power hitters in the NWL this season, with 12 home runs (3rd in the NWL) and 33 RBIs with a .239 batting average. Duffin was also the 2015 NWL Home Run Contest Champion, and helped lead the North Division to the team championship as well.
The Rochester Honkers will travel to face the St. Cloud Rox in the first round of the NWL North Divisional Playoffs on Monday, August 10th, at 7:05 p.m. Should they win, they will travel to face the winner of Willmar-Duluth on Tuesday, August 11th.
There will be a Fan Party bus traveling to the game from Rochester. Fans can get a seat on the bus for $35. That cost will include the bus ride and a general admission ticket to the game. The Bus will depart from Gander Mountain in Rochester at 2:30 p.m. on game day. Fans can bring their own beverages and snacks, though water will be provided.
