Zach Zubia named 2017 NWL North Division All-Star at first base
(Rochester Minn.) – The Northwoods League announced the selections to the 2017 Northwoods League All-Star Game. Zach Zubia (Texas), a first baseman, was the lone Honker player to be named to the team.
Zubia is batting .311 this season in 37 games. Zubia leads the Northwoods League in home runs (12) and runs batted in (36), and is fifth in runs (32). He started the season by reaching base in his first 33 games of the season with 12 multi-hit games. On June 29 against Waterloo, Zubia hit two home runs, driving in five runs and scoring three himself.
The 2017 Northwoods League All-Star game will be held at Athletic Park in Wausau, Wis. on Tuesday, July 18. The Home Run Derby will begin at 5:00 p.m. First pitch of the All-Star Game will be 7:05 p.m.
