Cancer Survivors Night
& Laughing for a Cure
Friday, June 14 & Friday, June 28 – Mayo Field (403 E. Center Street, Rochester)
Annually National Cancer Survivors Day is celebrated on the first Sunday of June to celebrate those who have triumphed over cancer and to inspire hope for those currently facing it. To honor cancer survivors and their loved ones, the Rochester Honkers are proud to present, with the support of the Mayo Clinic Comprehensive Cancer Center, Cancer Survivors Night on Friday, June 14 and Laughter for a Cure on Friday, June 28 at Mayo Field! All cancer survivors are invited to attend these special events. The American Cancer Society uses the term cancer survivor to refer to anyone who has ever been diagnosed with cancer no matter where they are in the course of their disease. Each survivor can attend June 14, June 28, or BOTH nights!!! Both nights, each survivor and one guest will receive a free reserved grandstand ticket and a $10 voucher for Honkers concessions. The vouchers can be used at any concession stand for any item but must be used all at once (If there is a difference above $10, it must be paid for). Additional guests of the survivor can obtain a reserved grandstand ticket and a $10 voucher for Honkers concessions for just $10 per package. To purchase the additional tickets, simply indicate the number of tickets you desire in the form below and a Honkers ticket representative will contact you directly. There are a limited number of reserved seats available so be sure to register early.
For the June 28 Laughing for a Cure event, we will welcome Gilda’s Club Minnesota, a free program for everyone living with any type of cancer, to come educate us on what they do! Gilda’s Club was opened in honor of Gilda Radner, a comedian and member of the original cast of Saturday Night Live, who died in 1989 of ovarian cancer. June 28 is Gilda’s birthday so we will honor her memory with the finals of our stand-up comedy competition following our game with the Minnesota Mud Puppies (details coming soon) and close out the evening with our headliner, Shaun Weiss (Goldberg from The Mighty Ducks!). Shaun will also sign autographs for those in attendance before the game!
Each survivor will receive a souvenir baseball and be introduced on the pitching mound at Mayo Field. Each survivor is invited to throw out a Ceremonial First Pitch to officially kick off our Cancer Survivors Day event. Each survivor can choose June 14, June 28 or BOTH nights!!!
