Five questions with Waterloo Bucks General Manager Dan Corbin.
1. What’s your favorite thing to do in the off-season?
I enjoy following UNI Football and Men’s Basketball.
2. What made you decided to work for the Waterloo Bucks?
Back in 2002, I was working at Western Kentucky University and I heard that the Assistant General Manager position with the Bucks was open. I had interned with the team in 1997 & ’99 and knew then General Manager Gary Rima. I stopped in one day over the Christmas break, one thing led to another, and was hired as the AGM. The Cedar Valley is home to both of my wife’s and my families, so we decided to move back home.
3. What is your favorite part of working for the Bucks?
I enjoy interacting with players and coaches.
4. Who will be the Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year in 2010?
I’m going to say it will be Cubs pitcher Carlos Zambrano. He’s going to win 25 games for my Cubs this summer and hit a grand slam in the World Series clincher.
5. What vegetable won’t you eat?
Not a fan of asparagus.
