 The Waterloo Bucks hit the road Monday, August 2 looking for a win but came up empty handed.  After a strong first inning at the plate, the Bucks were stopped dead in their tracks by the La Cross Loggers who claimed a 4-2 victory.  

The Bucks recorded five hits from four players:  2B Tyler Robbins, DH Ryan Rieger, and 1B Jake Astor and RF Nick Anderson (2).  Ryan Riege (pictured) r had a big night at the plate pounding out a double and going one-for-two with one run scored, a single RBI and two walks.  Regardless, the Bucks struggled to take the lead and left four runners stranded on the bases.

Starting pitcher Zach Cooper pitched for 5.2 innings giving up five hits, three earned runs and striking out five.  Relief pitcher Steven Richardson came in to wrap up the sixth inning then finished out the game allowing two additional hits, one earned run and striking out two.  Copper took the loss for the night, while La Crosse’s Kodey Simon was credited with the win and Madison Boer took the save.

Bucks finish their series in La Crosse Wednesday, August 4 and will return home on Thursday, August 5 to take on Battle Creek in a double header.  The double header will feature two seven-inning games.  Gates will open at 4:30 P.M. and the first game is scheduled to start at 5:35 P.M.  At the completion of the first game, there will be a forty-five minute break before the second game goes underway.
