This week we are catching up with former Waterloo Bucks pitcher, Josh Smith. The Cincinnati Reds selected the Margate, FL native in the 2009 First-Year Player Draft. Martin played his collegiate ball at Lipscomb University. 

 
This past season Smith started the season playing for the Billings Mustangs, in the Rookie league, where he would pitch in 12 games and appearing in 21 innings.  During that time he had a record of 1-2 with a 2.14 ERA while striking out 28 batters and walking 10.  He was then  called up to the Dayton Dragons who is the single A affiliate.  During his time with Dayton, Smith appeared in 7 games and pitched 12.2 innings.  In that time he had a record of 1-1 with an ERA of 2.13, striking out 15 batters and walking 6.
 

Smith was a member of the Waterloo Bucks in the ’07 season. Josh appeared in 14 games and pitched a total of 25.2 innings.  He collected a record of 1-3 with a 5.96 ERA, striking out 8 batters and walking 9.
