This week we are catching up with former Waterloo Bucks pitcher, Pat Schatz. The Chicago White Sox selected the McHenry, IA native in the 42nd round of the 2009 First-Year Player Draft. Schatz played his collegiate ball at the University of Iowa. 

This past season Schatz started the season playing for the Bristol Sox of the rookie league, where he would appear in 8 games and pitching in 18 innings.  During that time he had a record of 1-1 with a 1.50 ERA while striking out 16 batters and walking 2.  He was then called up to Great Falls in the Rookie league, during his time with Great Falls, Schatz appeared in 2 games including and pitched 2.1 innings.  In that time he had a record of 0-1 with an ERA of 7.71, striking out 3 batters and walking 0.  After his time in the Rookie league he was called up to Kannapolis of the A league.  During his time in Kannapolis Schatz appeared in 5 games and pitched in 19.2 innings, during that time he struck out 11 batters and walked 6.

 

Schatz was a member of the Waterloo Bucks in the ’09 season. Patrick appeared in 4 games and pitched a total of 6.2 innings.  He collected a record of 0-2 with a 10.8 ERA, striking out 7 batters and walking 6.
